Obituary

Jay Dean Jensen son of LaVern and Ramona (Riley) Jensen was born in Jordan, MT, on November 24, 1965. He died of liver and colon cancer on March 15, 2014 at the age of 48 in Mobridge, SD. Grateful to have shared his life are his mother Ramona Beringer, step-father, Daniel Beringer who now reside in Mesa, AZ; brother, Eric Jensen and wife PhuongLynh along with daughters, MaiLynh and VyLynh Jensen residing in Dalton, GA; sister, Taryl Jensen of Mesa, AZ with son, Kierre Jensen of Albany, NY; along with the love of his life, Tarena Wessel and her children, Naomi, Nathan and Shealon, grandchildren, Sierra, Zentaya, Kyler Jay Wessel of Mobridge and Triston Kaiser of Spearfish, SD. Jay's four step brothers also survive him; Monte; Dave with wife Shawn and children, Will and Dani; Wayne with son Patrick of Sioux Falls; Chris with wife Andre and children, Andrew and Leah of Aberdeen. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many friends.

After graduating in 1984 from Gettysburg High School, Jay attended Lake Area VoTech in Watertown with a degree in Electronics, he then worked at Friedel's Music and Recreation in Mobridge. Jay enjoyed his time at the shooting range, lake and many other outdoor activities, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He showed patience and loved helping raise them.

Jay is preceded in death by his father, LaVern (Chip) Jensen, grandparents, Oscar and Rose Schlenker, Hershal and Wilma Riley, Margaret Riley and Hieda and Harold Jensen.

Kesling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services will be private at a later date. Burial of the ashes will be at the Gettysburg Cemetery on a later date.
