Funeral services for Jasper Iron Cloud, 66, of Wakpala, will be at 11 AM, CT, Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the Little Eagle Blue Gym. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A procession will leave the funeral home at 4 PM Tuesday, for a 7 PM prayer service at the gym. Jasper passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.

Jasper S. Iron Cloud "Scili Kte" was born February 9, 1959, in Fort Yates, North Dakota to Vernon and Theo (Good House) Iron Cloud. Jasper attended high school in Wakpala, but ended up getting his GED and went on to work for JD Kesling. From there, he became a "jack-of-all-trades". He was a dispatcher/jailer and went on to drive bus for Wakpala Head start, Wakpala Smee School, McLaughlin Mustangs and The Little Eagle Grant School. Also, in his free time, Jasper liked to drive semi-trucks for Jensen Rock and Sand. He was also the Corson County Coroner and worked at Kesling Funeral Home for over 40 years.

At heart, Jasper was a cowboy through and through and was no stranger to bad weather, hard times, hard work and being flat broke. Jasper was very involved with horse rides, the Chiefs' Ride and Big Foot Ride (Future Generation Ride) with his daughter Larissa Iron Cloud. He dedicated his life to helping, supporting and giving advice, he was well-known on all rides as Grandpa. Jasper had his own way of putting things and his own sense of humor.

Jasper is survived by his four sisters; Vernetta Logg of Wakpala, SD, Verna Gone of Wakpala, Verlinda Iron Cloud of Cannonball, ND, Sharon Nelson of Minnesota, two aunts; Sharon Good House of Aberdeen, SD, and Marlis Swimmer of Wakpala, SD, his daughter; Larissa Iron Cloud and her son Chaske D. Wells and special friend of 32 years, Elizabeth Little Dog and her family, he was also survived by cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and grandchildren far too numerous to mention.

Jasper was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Conrad, Sylvester, Theron and Arnold Iron Cloud and his paternal grandparents Jasper Iron Cloud Sr., Mabel Red Legs and maternal grandparents Moses and Clementine Good House. Also preceding him is death are his stepdaughter Nadine LittleDog and grandson Rayfield LittleDog and hunka Son Dillon Ducheneaux.
