Obituary

Funeral services for Jason Logg, age 32, of Eagle Butte will be at 1 PM MT on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Old Agency Building in Eagle Butte. Burial will be in the LaPlant Congregational Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all night wake will be on Tuesday starting at 6 PM with services at 7 PM at the Old Agency Building. Family and friends will gather at the 4-mile junction at 5 PM MT. Jason passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the IHS Hospital in Eagle Butte.

Jason Leno Logg (Smells The Log) was born to Robyn and Leland Logg on August 15, 1977 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jason attended formative school at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte being an academic and athletic high achiever. Jason graduated from United Tribes in Bismarck, ND with an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1998. Following UTTEC; Jason attended Huron University until 2000.

Through hard work and determination, Jason excelled at all sports: Football, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling, Horseshoes, Golf but his main love was basketball. In his high school freshman year during football he hurt his knee so bad it was feared he would never participate in sports again, but he persevered. His awards ranged from All-State in high school to honorable mention All-American in college. The SDIC was one of the toughest conferences in the nation and Jason was named 1st team all-SDIC in its last year before the SDIC disbanded.

Jason's teaching career involved mainly teaching special needs children in Pierre, Chamberlain, and Eagle Butte. With his demeanor and caring attitude, students achieved success.

Jason is survived by his parents of Eagle Butte, wife Toni of Aberdeen, SD; brothers, Terry (Winnie) Logg of Tuba City, AZ, Lee (Mashawn) Logg of Eagle Butte, Les (Kathryn) Logg of Billings, MT, Sister, Joy (Dan) Sadowski of Minot AFB, ND. Jason's children are Aftan, Brooklyn, Jaxson and Ryker; nieces Alexandria Sadowski, Rian and Kiana Logg: Nephews, Tradjen and Trevor Logg, Caleb and Lawson Sadowski. Also surviving are his aunts Patsy Bowker of Laplant, SD, Kim and Nora Low Dog of Eagle Butte, lifelong friend and brother, Dusty Traversie.

Jason was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents and Smokey Traversie, his best friend and adopted brother. They're now together and hooping for the Lord on that great court in the sky.

Casketbearers will be Les Logg, Lee Logg, Tradjen Logg, Trevor Logg, Dan Sadowski, JJ Moran, Brandon LeBeau, Dusty Traversie.
