Obituary

Funeral services for Jamie Ducheneaux, 58, of Fargo will be at 11 AM, Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the Wakpala School. Burial will be in the Ascension Episcopal Cemetery in Blackfoot under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Family and friends will leave from Kesling Funeral Home at 4 PM Saturday for a wake service at 7 PM at the gym. Jamie passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Bethany Nursing Home in Fargo.

Jamie was born in Fort Yates ND and later moved to Mississippi where he was raised by his "dad" Ted Walker. Jamie attended Stone County High school and during that time also won the Mississippi State Golden Gloves. Jamie married his first wife in Wiggins, and they had two children together, Megan and Lee. Jamie later moved to Red Lake, Minnesota where he met his second wife of 22 years and they had four kids together, Chelsea, Lacey, Zoe and Jaime. Jamie later returned to South Dakota and had two more children Wanda and Jamie Jr.

Jamie worked as a chemical dependency counselor, carpenter, roofer, and construction worker. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and could light up a room with his humor and laughter. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Jamie touched the hearts of all he met and will be truly missed.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Megan (Casey) Rayburn, Lee Ducheneaux, Chelsea Ducheneaux, Lacey Ducheneaux, Zoe Ducheneaux, Jaime (Ricky) Ducheneaux, Wanda Ducheneaux, Jamie Ducheneaux Jr., 14 grandchildren, siblings, Spencer Ducheneaux, Edna Eagle, Becky (Gary) Wright, Dendra (Anothony) Hunnicut, Josette Walker and Courtney Bliner, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He will be greeted in the spirit world by his mother, Karen Ducheneaux, father, William Eagle, dad, Ted Walker, paternal grandmother, Alvina Eagle, paternal grandfather, Felix Eagle, maternal grandmother, Rebecca Ducheneaux, maternal grandfather, Alvin Ducheneaux, sisters, Connie Jackson and Dana Boyd, Good Friend, James (Charles) Bond.
