Funeral service for James Porras, Jr. age 55 of Little Eagle will be Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Rural Little Eagle, SD. Wake services will begin at 6:00 PM, Friday at the Blue Gym in Little Eagle, SD. Burial at Good Shepherd Episcopal Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. James passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at IHS Hospital in Fort Yates, ND.

Esidro Hernandez Porras, Jr. was born June 6, 1959 in Fort Yates, ND to Esidro Hernandez Porras, Sr. and Delphine Takes the Gun. James attended grade school in Little Eagle and McLaughlin High School, graduating in 1978. He attended Sitting Bull College in 1983-1987 and graduated with a degree in social science, human services and general study. James lived in Little Eagle all of his life and worked for SRST & Elderly Nutrition Program. He also served as a District Officer for many years and was the Treasurer for Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.

James is survived by three brothers; Jess Porras of McLaughlin, SD, Joe Porras of Bullhead SD, Jeff Bone Club of Bellingham, WA, and Isidro Porras of Lano, TX, three sisters; Carol Bone Club, Margaret Bone Club both of Bellingham, WA and Audrey Blue Stone of Parshal, ND, an adopted brother Maurice Yellow Earrings Adopted sister Cody High Elk Thunder butte, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jackie in 1962, and his grand parents; Jake & Laura Takes The Gun, nephew; Joe Porras, Jr., 2 aunties; Aldeline, Audrey, cousin, Harold, great grandson Brekken Flying By and nephew Chase Porras Hunka mother Clara High Elk,
