Obituary

Funeral services for James Luke Carry Moccasin Jr. 39 of Selfridge, ND will be at noon, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Elk Horn Church in Little Eagle. Burial will be in the Culbertson Family Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. All night wake services will start at 7 PM Friday at the church. James passed away April 14, 2016 at his home in Selfridge, ND.

James Luke Carry Moccasin Jr. was born on February 17, 1977 to James Carry Moccasin Sr. and Sylvia Culbertson in Fort Yates, ND. James nick name was Bu Bu or Bubuson his auntie Hazel called him. James went to grade school at Ft. Yates, ND till 1986. In the summer of 1986 in August, James and his mother and siblings moved to Minneapolis. In 1988 they moved to Selfridge where he went to school. Later he went to Ronan, MT. In 1997 he took up heavy equipment operator training and his GED, graduated from there and returned home. James was employed with Sioux County Shop as a heavy equipment operator. James worked for the SRST as a maintenance worker, while there he met Stacey Little Bear. From this union they had one beautiful daughter, Aloriah Jaimes Carry Moccasin was born on April 25, 2006. She passed away on June 10, 2006. Following that James and Stacey went their separate ways. James then went on to United Tribes Tech College and was employed as a maintenance worker in August of 2006. As a UTTC employee, maintenance employees had a softball Mafia Team. He was always anxious and happy to play with his team, everyone was always happy to play and enjoy their games. James returned home in 2011 to be with his mother and family members in Selfridge, ND. James loved all his nieces and nephews, always called his nieces his beauties and nephews were given any name he would think of but always meaning happy about it. His favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings and their players, Peterson and Bridgewater.

James is survived by his parents, Sylvia Culbertson and James Carry Moccasin Sr., brothers, Joseph E. Culbertson, Verdell Owns Pipe, Thomas (Josh) and Jana Carry Moccasin, Frederick L. Shoots the Enemy, Alex J.
