Obituary
Jake was born September 24, 1916 on a farm in Campbell County to Gottlied and
Karolina (Kogele) Pfeifle. He grew up on his parents farm in Campbell County and attended rural grade school.
On Oct. 25, 1936 he married Katie Holzwarth. They made their home in Java and Mound City for a time before moving to Madison, Minn. They lived there until 1941 when they returned to South Dakota to farm in the Java area. They then moved to Fargo, ND for a short time before moving in 1954.
He worked for a short time on he Power High Line east of Mobridge. He then went to work for the Ford garage in 1955 and worked there until his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Jake is survived by his son, Brian Pfeifle of Mandan, ND, two daughters, Gerri Stilwell and Brenda Brixen both of Tucson, AZ. five grandchildren, Lori Ann Stilwell, Keith, Jada Loy Sulze, Tina Lynne Brixen, Tigh Lawrence Pfeifle, and Jimi Beth Obetenov, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, one brother Fred Pfeifle of Selby, 2 sisters, Irene Oster of Spearfish, Lillian Heisler of Florida.
Jake was preceded in death, wife Katie, son in infancy a daughter in infancy, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and his parents.
