Funeral services for Ivan James Garza, 58, of Ft. Yates will be at 10 AM, Friday, May 19, 2023, at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Burial will be at the Keepseagle Family Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 9 AM. Ivan passed away Friday, May 12, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.

I van James Garza was born June 16, 1964 to Germaine Keepseagle. He passed away May 12, 2023 at Sandford Medical Center, Bismarck, North Dakota where he resided most of his life.

Ivan worked for many years at Gerdau Steel in Bismarck, North Dakota and in the construction field. He traveled to many states including Chicago, Illinois, Seattle, Washington, Appleton, Wisconsin. He liked fishing and the outdoors. He loved Classic Rock and playing the guitar. Ivan also liked to go on road trips with his brother Joe. Ivan was a humble and good man and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was an awesome Uncle. He had many friends from the Mandan and Bismarck area. He was close to his co-workers, especially his boss Mark Peterson and his long-time friend Janet Jans. Ivan was the best brother we could ever have. All the best memories of Ivan will be in our hearts forever. He is free now, up there in the spirit world with his mother Germaine and sister Lucie.

Ivan was preceded in death by his mother; Germaine Keepseagle, sister; Lucille Garza, Uncle; Edmond Young Eagle and grandparents; Paul and Lucille Keepseagle.
