Isabelle Marie Crow Feather "Tehilapi Wi?" was born on February 23, 1935, in Old Kenel, SD, to William "Bill" Crow Feather and Mary Left Hand. A brother Vincent "Vinnie" and a sister Caroline were also born to this union. Isabelle attended Kenel Day School and St. Joe's Indian School in Chamberlain, SD. She then attended high school in Fort Yates, ND, and stayed in the dormitory. She worked at Fischer's Store in Old Kenel in the 1950s and continued to work there when they moved to New Kenel as a clerk. She also worked for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe during the late 1970s as the Director of Arts and Crafts. Isabelle was a member of the election committee for many years. She was an active community member that was very involved in the church and all of its activities. Isabelle enjoyed making shawls, playing Whist, beading, attending wachípis, and taking care of her thakóžas. When she was very young, her mother passed away and she was raised by her Lalá Vermund and U?cí Katherine Left Hand. It was strong Catholic values instilled by her grandparents that made it possible for her to make her First Communion and Confirmation. They also only spoke Lakota in the Home; it was there that Isabelle learned her traditional ways and to speak her native language. Isabelle was known as "Auntie" to everyone. She was very close with her cépha?ši Elsie. They went everywhere together. When Elsie left in 2001, Isabelle stepped in as the mother to her four children, Lolly, Scotty, Judi, and Paula. Although she didn't have any children of her own, she loved all of her godchildren and thakóžas and helped to raise many of them.

Isabelle is preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" Crow Feather and Mary Left Hand; her grandparents, Vermund and Katherine Left Hand; her sisters, Viola and Caroline; her brothers, Vincent "Vinnie", Wayne, Winfield, Gerald, and William; her cousins, the Left Hand; and her step-mother, Rose Crow Feather.

Isabelle is survived by her sister, Melda Crow Feather of Kenel, SD; her brother, Adrian Crow Feather of Bismarck, ND; her step-brother Fred Fast Horse of Eagle
