Memorial services for Irene Shillingstad Winterberg age 71 of Herreid will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Inurnment will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Herreid. Irene passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Avantara Nursing Home in Ipswich, SD. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Irene Jane Shillingstad Winterberg was born July 8, 1947 in Mobridge, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Lavern and Bertha (Schaefbauer) Shillingstad.

Irene enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Irene spent most of her life in various nursing homes due to health and mental issues. Irene also enjoyed playing Bingo and participation in all the activities.

She is survived by one brother, Joe Shillingstad of Herreid, South Dakota, three sisters, Lorraine (Clay) Olson of Fargo, North Dakota, Roberta (Steve) Berg of Henry, South Dakota and Monica (Earl) Markwed of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Also several nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha and father, Lavern, two sisters, Verna and Mary Ann.
