Mass of Christian Burial for Houston Lewis, 47, of Kenel will be at 2 PM, CT, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Kenel Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Left Hand Family Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 5 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Houston passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.

Houston was born to his mother Antoinette Johnson and his father Christopher Lewis on the date of January 2nd, 1977. Growing up Houston lived on the reservation of Old Kenel where he was raised by his grandma Ester Silk and also lived in Mclaughlin SD, Claudine Bull Head and Richard Weinreis also raised him throughout his young age, soon as he got older he attended Mellette Northwestern Highschool and Standing Rock Highschool. During his high school years, he excelled in sports such as Football, Wrestling, and Track. After leaving school he started working for various ranches and receiving his G.E.D. Soon he met Marcella Summers and later got married, and they raised two children Twila & John Sweeney. After her passing, he was widowed and later in the years he met Erin Ann Widow-Sullivan, they had children Ambrose and Houston Jr Lewis together. As he lived his life, 6 years later he chose to move back to Mobridge SD for his daughter Kami (Kamimila) Iron Cloud, step-son Wyatt Iron Cloud also his 3 nieces Kaylee, Consuelo, and Saydee Summers. Soon after he was in living in Mobridge, he met his current girlfriend Tanya Soyk and they had their daughter Phoenix Lewis. Houston loved to go camping, fishing, and many other extra activities when he had the time to do so, but most of all he loved to spend time with his youngest daughter Phoenix Lewis.

He resides with his dad, grandpa, grandma, and mom. Sorry if we forgot about family members/relatives. We tried our best.
