Henry Scott Martin was born on October 28, 1960, to Henry Martin and Elsie (Left Hand) Martin. Henry was known by "Scotty" to most everyone, and "Sonny" to his sisters, who thought the world of him.

Scotty was raised on his parents' ranch, just south of Kenel. He attended country school until the second grade, when he transferred to McLaughlin School. Much of Scotty's life was dedicated to working in the construction and carpentry industries. He was a hard worker and made quick friends wherever his jobs took him. He continued in this line of work until his health prevented him from performing the strenuous tasks required in the construction field. At one time Scotty and his brother-in-law had their own construction business called Arrow Construction.

Scotty met Frances Laframboise in 1981 and to this union, four children were born: Terrell, Kayla, Henry Jr., and Jillian. Scotty also gained two bonus daughters from this relationship -Angie and Teira. Scotty's whole world revolved around his children, and later his grandchildren. They will always remember him for his gentle teachings and ability to make them feel like the most important people in the world.

Scotty's one-of-a-kind personality earned him many, many friends. He brought light to any room with his quick wit and warm heart. He had many stories and jokes he shared with his family, keeping them laughing, even through tough times.

Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elsie Martin, maternal grandparents, George and Mary Jane (Poitra) Left Hand, paternal grandparents, Frank and Mary (Brought) Martin, Godmother, Isabelle Crowfeather, Godfather, Louis Crow Skin, sister, Lola Laframboise, daughter, Kayla Martin, and granddaughter, Tessa Chasing Hawk.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Frances Laframboise; his sons, Terrell and Henry Martin Jr.; daughters, Jillian Martin, Teira Vermillion, and Angie Flying Horse; grandchildren, Layla, Wicahpi Luta Win, and Hank Martin, Jayda, Kadence, and Mark Trangsrud, Addison, Ashtyn, Alex, and Amani LaPlante, Tiana Flying Horse, Lexus, Summer, Santee, and Thane Ridley; siblings, Laurel (Duane) Vermillion, Judi (Cordell Sr.) Yellow Fat, and Paula (James) Gayton, Wilbur Red Tomahawk; and godchildren, Crystal Vermillion, Shannon Left Hand, Katlin Yellow Fat, Claudia Walking Elk, and Shawn "Silbs" Silbernagel.
