Funeral services for Helen Schulz, 93, of Mobridge, SD, are 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Mobridge. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of the Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation is 4:00 - 6:30, with a prayer service at 6:30, at the Kesling Funeral Chapel of Mobridge. Helen passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Helen was born on April 14, 1922, in McIntosh, SD, to William and Justina (Schweigert) Moser. She attended primary school and went on to earn a one year teaching certificate. She married the love of her life, Rudy Schulz, on January 7, 1945, and the two remained happily married until his passing in 2003.

Upon receiving her teaching certificate, Helen taught school for nine years. She went on to manage the Schulz Café, serve as the Corson County Treasurer, finance officer for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, and was an admissions clerk for the Mobridge Regional Hospital for more than 24 years.

In her free time Helen would sing at weddings, funerals, and other special occasions. She especially enjoyed singing along as Rudy would play his guitar and harmonica. Her garden was a place of peace for her and she spent many springs and summers tending to her flowers.
She was a devout woman who loved her church. She accepted Jesus into her life at age eleven and was a long-time member of the Baptist Church of McIntosh, McLaughlin Baptist Church, and the First Baptist Church of Mobridge.

Some of her favorite memories include family trips she took with her husband and children. They visited Washington D.C., the southern states, and California, where they went to Disneyland.

Helen is survived by her children, Zane (Janie) Schulz of Mobridge, and Kaye (Terry) Snow of Baltic, SD; her grandchildren, Leasa (Carl) Kulm of Pipestone, MN, Kelly (Paula) Cape of Hot Springs, SD, Paul Schneider of Mobridge, Preston Snow of Ft. Collins, Co, and Kerri Snow of Baltic; her brothers, Milbert Moser of Rupert, ID, and Edwin Moser of Woodburn, OR; and her sisters, Irene Heinrich of Elk Grove, CA, Violet Bronson of Sioux Falls, Clara Stoecker of Mobridge, and Shirley Stoecker of Aberdeen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Schulz; her parents, William and Justina (Schweigert) Moser; her sisters, Lydia Gehring, Edna Scholl, and Mildred Smith.
