Mass of Christian burial for Harry DuBray Sr., age 73, of Eagle Butte will be 11:00 CT, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ft. Yates, ND. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Harry passed away, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his home in Eagle Butte.

Harry Joseph DuBray Sr., 73 was born on July 12, 1946 at Fort Yates, ND to Antoine and Helen (Silk) DuBray.

He grew up and attended school in Fort Yates, ND where he graduated high school in 1964. He joined the United States Army in February 1973 where he served for 4 years during the Vietnam Era, he was honorably discharged in March 1977.

Harry also attended and graduated with a bachelor's of science degree from the University of North Dakota in Fargo. He began working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a Soil Conservationist on Standing Rock Agency in the early 1980's, and later transferred to Cheyenne River Bureau of Indian Affairs in Eagle Butte, SD in 1985 until his retirement in 2008 where he resided.

On November 10, 1980 he married Kathleen Village Center in Selby, SD. Through this union three children were born Thomas, Harry Jr., and Kateri. He enjoyed reading books of many types he also enjoyed watching the history channel and trips to Grand River Casino in Mobridge, SD when he felt the need to get out of Eagle Butte.

He is survived by his sons, Thomas (Sherry), Ft. Yates, Harry Jr., Ft. Yates, daughters; Kateri (Michael) Murphy, Selfridge, Sheila (Charles) Murphy, Bismarck, Robyn Wood, MN; sister Edie (Elliot) Rhoades; brothers, Lawrence Cheaumea, Steve Essert, all of Fort Yates; grandchildren, Wyslee (Wyman), Steven, Madisyn, Christian, Thomas Jr., Nova, Akicita, Wana'cha, Treysey, Aaden, Laila, Darian, Jagger, Presley, Martina, Daysha, Alexi, and Abbi Wood; Great-grandchildren, Bryleigh, Maiah, Zaya Martin, and Kora Walking Eagle.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Antoine; brother, James Essert.

Honorary urn bearers; Cheyenne River Housing Authority, Cheyenne River Police Department, Cheyenne River BIA Land Operations co-workers, all his other Cheyenne River family, Tim Hertel & family, Steve (Marlene) McLaughlin & family, goddaughter Kimberly Rhoades and family, Brenda Essert & Family, his 1964 Classmates, all the rest of his family nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
