Memorial service for Harold "Ole" Olson age 87 of Mobridge will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2015 begin at 5 with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Harold "Ole" passed away, Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Mobridge Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family


Ole was born on September 5, 1927 in McLaughlin, SD to Peter and Annie (Anderson) Olson. He was the youngest of 9 children. He was raised on a farm in the McLaughlin area. He graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1945. He attended Northern State College for one year.

He was drafted into the Army on January 8, 1946 and served as a Military Policeman in Korea.

Ole married Annie Lipp on December 28, 1948 in McLaughlin. There were 7 children born to this loving relationship. Ole worked at the McLaughlin Grain Elevator for 27 years before retiring in 1991. They moved to Mobridge in 2002.

He was a dedicated Vikings fan and enjoyed yard work, playing cards, golfing and spending time with this children and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ole is survived by his wife Annie, Lowell's wife Barbara of Hartford, SD and children Angie, Jim, Neal, Russell. and Cody, Lavone Merkel of Aberdeen, SD and son Jason, Terry (Lynn) Olson of Commerce City, CO and children Matthew, Tandy and Meghan, Dwight (Lisa) Olson of Belvidere, IL and children Christopher, Kathryn, and David, Jill (Dean) Derr of Greeley, CO and children Dustin, Jeremy and Grant, Tom (Connie) Olson of Topeka, KS and Jon (Jill) Olson of Mobridge and children Isaac, Gretchen, Heidi and Luke. There are also 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 5 brothers, and son Lowell.
