Glenn Martin Sjomeling Jr., 67, of West Concord, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at his home.
He was born August 6, 1951 in Mobridge, South Dakota the son of Glenn and Mary Ann (Backhaus) Sjomeling. Glenn graduated from Pollock High School and attended Vo-Tech school in Watertown, SD. He moved to Owatonna in 1972. Glenn married Lynn Lee in 1974 and the couple had one son, Wade. He later remarried Connie Cummings in 1987 and had a daughter, Amber. Glenn worked for OTC and later PAL's Machining retiring in 2016. He has enjoyed spending the last 13 years with his significant other, Barb Erickson.
Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending auctions, riding horse and collecting things. He was an avid collector of Rosemede. He had a great sense of humor and was very patriotic. Glenn was a member of the Turkey Foundation and the American Quarter Horse Association. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, Wade Sjomeling of Medford; daughter, Amber Sjomeling of Minneapolis; significant other, Barb Erickson of West Concord; Barb's children, Anthony (and Nichole) Erickson of West Concord, Jesse (and Maria) Erickson of West Concord; 5 grandchildren; brother, Ole (and Jennifer) Sjomeling of Rapid City, SD; sister, Jeanne (and Mike) Mathews of Sioux City, IA and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Sjomeling.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna on Monday from 4pm to 7pm and at Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge, SD on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm with a prayer service at 7pm and at Pollock Lutheran Church, Pollock, SD on Thursday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 10:30am at Pollock Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Kvernes Cemetery in rural Pollock, SD.
