Funeral services for Glen P. Joens, age 89, of Faith will be 2:00 PM. CT, Friday, Feb. 26 at Kesling Funeral Chapel of Mobridge. Burial will be at the Eagle Butte Cemetery in Eagle Butte. Mr. Joens passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.


Glen P. Joens was born February 18, 1921 to Hans and Alvena (Schlie) Joens at the Naeve farm 7 miles northeast of Eagle Butte. Glen attended school in Eagle Butte. On March 10, 1943 he married Alvera (Blattner) in Eagle Butte and from this union they had 10 children. Alvera passed away on August 29, 1981 and Glen continued to live on the ranch until 2002, when he moved to Mobridge. In 2008 he moved to Faith until the time of his death. Glen loved to play cards.



Glen is survived by 7 sons; Boyd (Carol) Joens of Henry, SD, Nick (Jenni) Joens of Eagle Butte, Les (Ethel) Joens of Eagle Butte, Ben (Hank) Joens of Black Hawk, SD, Ronnie (Judy) Joens of Eagle Butte, Kenney (Deb) Joens of Eagle Butte, Larry (Rene) Joens of Eagle Butte, 3 daughters; Babe Joens of Eagle Butte, Golda Galyon of Rapid City, and Gwen (Dale) Vogt of Black Hawk, SD, grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters; Edna Strong of Spearfish, SD, and Dorothy Brewer of Eagle Butte.



He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 sisters, 5 brothers, and two son-in-law.



Casketbearers will be Grandsons: Kent Joens, Eric Joens, Ed Joens, Loren Vogt, R.J. Joens, Mickey Joens, Gilbert Diaz



Honorary casketbearers will be Bob Berndt, Perry Detoy, Butch Webb, Gene Webb, Dale Brewer, and Joe Vorz.



Clergy will be Ken Ripley.
