Glen "Cuddy" D. Cudmore was born March 8, 1952, at the Lowe Hospital in Mobridge, SD.
During his lifetime, Glen enjoyed the love of animals and his cowboy lifestyle. He was a man of many nicknames, including a given family nickname of "Cuddy" and a high school nick name of "Shadow". He began riding sheep and participating in 4-H rodeos as a youth. He often times told stories about his high school bareback riding days.
Glen graduated from Timber Lake High School, Timber Lake, SD, in 1971. After high school he worked as a cement contractor. He built bridges between Newell and Faith and helped pour cement for many home builds in the area.
On July 21, 1972, Glen married Kathy Cudmore. To this union, their daughter Shawn was born. After his automobile accident in 1978 and his rehabilitation, he went into the sheep business with his brother. He did not let his injuries stop him from learning some of his favorite tasks in life such as saddling his own horse and riding again. He also enjoyed working in the restaurant industry throughout his life. Cuddy was an excellent cook and could find the right "spice" combination to make anything taste good.
Several years later, he and his wife Kathy purchased the Cudmore cattle company. He was the owner of the company at the time of his death.
During his free time, he was often found in crows nest at the area rodeos. He timed events for many rodeos: High school, 4-H, Days of 1910, McLaughlin, James Rodeo, Isabel and Eagle Butte. He was a long time member of the Timber Lake Rodeo Association and served as director. He served as a supervisor for the Timber Lake High School. One of the big projects Glen was involved in was helping build the grandstand at the Timber Lake Rodeo Association arena. He frequently could be found at the local sale barn watching sales and "shooting the bull". He also had the love of fishing and enjoyed fish fries.
Glen enjoyed playing his cards and attending local sporting events. he was always willing to offer advice to local coaches and athletes whether they wanted to hear it or not. He very seldom missed a meal at someone's house and always had a good story to tell.
One of Cuddy's fondest memories was riding the wagon train with his grandson Logan Kremer. He also enjoyed and looked forward to his phone calls and visits with Logan.
He is survived by his daughter, Shawn (Brent) Kremer, Jamestown, ND; his grandson, Logan Kremer; his sisters, Shelly (Hank) Miller, Rapid City, SD, and Candy (Bob) Plourde, Ft. Kent, ME; his brother, Scott (Mary Pat) Cudmore, Cherokee, OK; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; his beloved cat, Mittens; and his dogs, Gabe and Sport.
