Celebration of Life for Glade B. Deckert age 75 of Mobridge will be 6:00 PM Monday, May 9, 2016 at Kesling Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be 1:00 PM MDT Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Black Hills National Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #4 of Mobridge. Glade passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Mobridge.

Glade Deckert was born June 12, 1940 in Salem, SD to Carl and Johanna (Van Enter) Deckert, the youngest of eight children. He attended college for one year and then joined the army in 1963. After serving his tour and being honorably discharged from the army, resumed his education and received a Bachelor's degree in finance. Glade worked as a vice president at First National Bank in Mitchell for 15 years.

He married Norma Olson and from this union had a daughter, Michelle, and a son, Scott. Glade and family moved to Mobridge, SD when he joined State Farm Insurance as an agent, and spent the following 33 years truly caring for those he assisted with insurance in Mobridge and surrounding areas.

Glade married Nancy (Kougl) in 1994 and was a loving father to her three children, Brian, Melissa and Steven.

Glade was known for his intelligence, kindness, integrity, and sense of humor. He had exceptional humility, and spent his life doing quiet kindnesses. He worked hard from a young age and was known by those he provided insurance as a compassionate man who cared for them and their families personally. He thought of people first over the business. He was devoted to his family, and delighted by his grandchildren.

Glade enjoyed hunting, watching the Miami Dolphins football, traveling, and cooking. His cooking was famous among his family and friends. He never forgot his family's birthday's, and enjoyed his time spent with family.

Grateful to have shared his life is his wife, Nancy; children Michelle (Cory) Lang, Scott (Kjersti) Deckert, Brian (Calee) O'Leary, Melissa (Chad) Oberg, Steven (Amy) O'Leary, grandchildren Katelyn, Jake, Norah, Maren, Samantha, Evelyn, Brianna, Grace, Nicholas, Luke, Patricia and Elizabeth, Sister Lillian (Ronald) Mitchell, Sister-in-law, Marcia (Tim) O'Leary, Brother-in-law, Albert (Deleen) Kougl, many nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Johanna Deckert, parent-in-law, Alfred and Patricia Kougl, Sisters, Gladys Shoop, Shirley Biondi, Beverly Myers, and Marian Kitchen, Brothers, Orville and Lon Deckert, Brother-in-law, Donald and John Kougl, Nephew Cpl. Tanner O'Leary.
