Mass of Christian Burial for Germaine Eagle, age 86, of Bullhead will be 11AM Monday, February 24, 2014 at t. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bullhead. Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. All night wake will be Sunday, February 23, 2014 starting at 6PM with a Rosary at 7PM at the Church. Germaine passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Germaine M. Archambault Eagle was born on July 1, 1927 at Black Horse to John and Margaret (Little Eagle) Archambault. Germaine spent her early childhood years on her father's ranch until they moved to Bullhead. She spent a lot of time with her grandparents, and was a fluent Lakota speaker. She learned and was taught many things by her grandparents and the elderly during her early years. Germaine loved speaking with people in her own language.

She attend school at Black Horse, Bullhead Day School and boarding school at Ft. Yates,
She received her GED and one year at the Sitting Bull College. She worked as a cook for the Elderly Nutrition Program and the BIA Bullhead Day School until retirement in 1989.
She served on the Bullhead School Board, Rock Creek Community District Officer, J. Tack Committee and the St. Aloysius Society. Lifetime member of the Brown Otter Village Center American Legion Auxiliary.

Mom will always be remembered feeding visitors coming into her home, especially after Midnight Mass during the Christmas season.

Germaine is survived by her children Wilma Red Bear (Vince Tiger) of Mobridge, Antionette (Herb) Good Low of Lower Brule, Zetah (David) Red Bear, Kathy Jo (Gene) Morrison, Linda Iron Thunder all of Bullhead, Johnelle (Elliot) Jacobson of Bismarck, Lorraine Iron Thunder of McLaughlin, Ted Iron Thunder, Jr. of Bullhead, Don Yellow of Rosebud, Ron Yellow of Ft. Yates, Bertrend (Tote) Carpenter of Lower Brule, 60 grandchildren, 114 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.

Germaine was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Timothy Archambault, Myron Iron Thunder, one daughter Betty Ann Archambault Harris, grandchildren Dominick Archambault, great-grandson, Dorian White Twin, Aljoe Uses Arrow, Joseph Red Bear, Javen John Iron Thunder, granddaughter, Maria Yellow Earrings, Brothers, Cyril, Oscar, Edgar, Clayton and LeRoy Archambault, one sister, Leona Archambault Village Center, Special cousin Genevieve Breuer.
