Mass of Christian Burial for Geraldine Holzer, 78, of Timber Lake will be at 10 AM MT, Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake. Burial will be at Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Rosary will be Tuesday at 7 PM at the church. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM at the church. Mrs. Holzer passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Geraldine (Coyle) Holzer was born July 30, 1933 to Justus "Jay" and Iva (McGuire) Coyle in rural Timber Lake, SD. She attended St. Joseph's school and graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1951.

Geraldine married Adam Holzer on May 15, 1954 at Timber Lake, SD. They made their home in Timber Lake and together they raised four children: David, Edward, Bonnie and Rita. Geraldine was the bookkeeper for Burke Implement at McIntosh, SD from October, 1951 until July, 1956. She was the Business Manager for the Timber Lake School District from 1968 until 2003.

Grateful for sharing in Geraldine's life are her children; David (Karen) Holzer of Salem, SD, Edward (Karen) Holzer of Orange Park, FL, Bonnie (Benton) Salzer of Gillette, WY, Rita (Steve) Hasz of Spearfish, SD, a brother David Coyle of Fairfield, CA, five sisters, Kathleen Keller of Sioux Falls, SD, Monica (Al) Welk of Sioux Falls, SD, Lois Holzer of Timber Lake, SD, Rita (Richard) Christie of Escondido, CA, Lavonne Daniel of Fairfield, CA, a sister-in-law, Florence Coyle of Miller, SD, grandchildren, Terrilyn (Jesse) Vifquain , Kayla Holzer, Tevis Holzer, Tayler Salzer, Garrett (Anna) Salzer, Melissa Salzer, Travis Spaulding and Melissa (Rich) Wilkie, great-grandchildren, Joselyn Vifquain, Laurie Vifquain, Hudson Vifquain, Makayla Bowman and Lindsey Spaulding.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Adam, her parents, two sisters, Mary Long and Teresa Moser, two brothers, Donald and Joe Coyle and granddaughter Talitha Jean Holzer.
