It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary Alan Byers of Selby, SD, who left this world unexpectedly at the age of 80 on December 22, 2025.

Gary was born in Williamsport, PA to Ollie and Ruth Byers.

In his younger years Gary was very competitive and a decorated player in baseball and basketball, a proud accomplishment that spoke to his talent and love of the game. He carried that competitive spirit with him on and off the field along with a quick wit sense of humor that will be remembered by all. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including country music, sports, and a cold beer after a hard day's work. He always put his family first in everything he did.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Ruth and Ollie Byers, son Glen Byers.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Vicky Byers; Children: Gary Jr., Grady, Geri, Grady, Amber, Ryan, and Jason. Grandchildren from Geri, Grady, Amber, and Jason and all their significant others.

His passing marks the end of a full-filling and successful life.

A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date to be determined.
