Mass of Christian Burial for Frank Selzler, age 85 of Mobridge, will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 2-4PM at Kesling Funeral Home and at 5PM at the Catholic Church with a rosary at 6:30 PM. Frank passed away, Monday July 29, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Mobridge.
Frank Selzler was born November 20, 1927 to Frank and Magdelena (Schmaltz) Selzler in Haynes, ND. He was one of ten children born to Frank and Magdalena. During his early childhood years the family lived in the Wakpala and Glencross areas.
Frank married Genevieve Goldade on September 19, 1950 at Timber Lake, to this union 2 children were born Leo and Philiphine. Frank and Genevieve lived on the farm for 4 years before moving into Timber Lake and operating his Blacksmith shop, during his lifetime Frank burned up many tons of welding rod. Frank had made several homemade tractor's and blades, during his years of work. In the late 60's and early 70's Frank worked at Timber Lake Motors.
He worked for Moreau-Grand Electric, and built and fabricated several sub-stations for the company. Frank worked for Moreau-Grand for a total of 20 years of years retiring in 1988. He then did blacksmithing for area people. He would take some time to go fishing on his boat. Frank passed his love of speed on to many generations.
Frank is survived by his wife; Genevieve of Mobridge, daughter, Philiphine "Phil" Smolik, of Mobridge her son's Ted and his son Trace, Brian, son, Leo and (Bev) Selzler, and their son's Blake, Garret, of Mobridge, and sister Mary Goldade of Rapid City.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters, and son-in-law Victor Smolik.
