Faye McMacken was born March 7, 1933, seven miles north of Trail City, SD in a log cabin on High Bank Creek. She was the third of eight children born to Francis and Bertha McMacken. Faye attended school in Timber Lake for 12 years, graduating from high school in 1950. After high school, Faye moved to Spokane, WA where she clerked in a bank while waiting for her future husband to come home from the armed service. Faye and Paul married on May 7, 1952 and moved to their home south of Isabel where they have lived, loved and raised their family.

Faye was a devoted wife and mother, who created a home where all were welcome around her table. She served with grace and a skill rich in love. As a rancher's wife, she was always there to ride, drive tractor, and fulfill the myriad of tasks necessary for life in this area. She was a Daughter of the American Revolution, served as church pianist, was active in community service, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Gideons International Auxiliary, and Isabel Community Clinic board of Directors.

Faye is survived by her husband of 67 years; four sons and their wives, Jeff (Jane) of Isabel; Dale (Lisa) of Rapid City; Jay (Marjorie) of Enfield, CT; Lynn (Bev) of Isabel; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one brother Marvin (Connie) McMacken of Piedmont, SD; sisters Merriel Zimmer of Mesa, AZ; Ellen (Jerry) Fricke of Mesa, AZ; Betty Schweitzer of Timber Lake and Bonnie (Brother) Yuker of Glencross; sisters-in-law Connie McMacken of Sioux Falls; Alyce Smith of Rapid City and Mary Titsworth of Stockton, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Bertha McMacken; her husband's parents, August and Mary Stradinger; brothers Robert and wife, Norma, and Joseph McMacken; brothers-in-law Lyle Zimmer and Bert Smith; and niece, Joyce Larson.

The family wishes to thank the many medical professionals who contributed to her care. We are grateful for their prayers and concerns extended on mom's behalf during this time.
