Memorial services for Floyd E. Baumann, 83 of Selby will be 10:30 AM, Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Selby. There will be a Prayer service on Sunday, at 7:00 PM at the church. Inurnment will be at Selby Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Floyd passed away March 12, 2013 at Selby Good Samaritan Center in Selby.
Floyd E. Baumann was born August 9, 1929 to Emanuel and Mrytle (Anderson) Baumann in the Lowry, SD area. He attended Southeast Surrey country school until 1944 when the family moved to Selby and he then attended the Selby School.
Floyd married Delores Hosek on June 23, 1949 in Platte where he was employed by the railroad and did construction work. His job then took the family to Selby and Milbank. In 1959 the family returned to Selby. He worked construction until his retirement in 1990, and then returned to Selby.
Floyd married Elva (Rossow) Aman on March 3, 1995 in Green Valley, AZ. They resided in Selby and on January 2013 Floyd and Elva entered the Selby Good Samaritan Center.
Floyd was a history buff of the area, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading. He also enjoyed his model train, gardening and canning. His loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and their other activities.
Floyd was an member of St. John Lutheran Church and also had belonged to the Selby Lions Club.
Floyd is survived by his wife Elva of Selby, children, Kathy Baumann of Oakes, ND, Roger (Patti) Baumann of Selby, Diane (Curt) Rawstern of Selby, daughter-in-law, Cyndi Baumann of Omaha, NE, step-daughter, Patsy (Emery) Visto of Oakes, ND, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Three sisters; Ardelle Lewis of Minneapolis, MN, Ardyth Peterson of Selby, and Sharon Schaefbauer of Pierre, SD, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Floyd was preceded in death by one son; Floyd W. Baumann, his parents, 2 sisters, 4 brothers-in-law, one grandson, 2 great grandchildren and 2 step-daughters.
