Mass of Christian Burial for Florence Ritter, 86, of Herreid will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Herreid. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 6 PM Friday with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:30 PM at the church. Mrs. Ritter passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Selby Good Samaritan Center.

Florence was born on February 8, 1931, to John and Agatha (Litschewski) Traxinger in Eureka, SD. She graduated from Herreid High School in 1948. She married Ralph Ritter on July 10, 1950. Together they had 8 children.

Florence loved playing cards and games with family and her many friends. She loved painting, making rosaries, and many other hobbies. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Grateful to have shared in her life are her children, Ray (Deb) Ritter of Mound City, SD, Rhonda (Tom) Pudwill of Glendale, AZ, Rick (Patty) Ritter of Phoenix, AZ, Monica Hoerth of Colorado Springs, CO, Melinda (Eric) Thaut of Hermosa, SD, Marsha (Neil) Weisbeck of Papillion, NE, Marlon Ritter of Rapid City, SD, brothers, Jim (Cassie) Traxinger, of CO, Walter (Carol) Traxinger of IL, sister, Linda (Rich) Walts of OK, and sister-in-law, Barb Traxinger of MI. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Florence is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ritter, parents, John and Agatha Traxinger, brothers, Tom, Ted and Lyle, sister, Lorraine Greethurst, son, Roger and grandson, Landen Weisbeck.

Florence had a large family and many friends who are so blessed and honored to have shared life with her.
