Funeral services for Florance Walker, 67 of Selby will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 14, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Selby. Burial will be in the Selby Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 PM at Kesling Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 PM. Florance passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at her daughter's home in Onida.
Florance was born November 14, 1944 at Mobridge, SD to Albert and Johanna (Schulz) Koenig. In her early years she attended school in McLaughlin. In 1955 her family moved to Anaconda, Mt where she graduated from Anaconda High School in 1962.
On June 2, 1962 she married Donald Walker, Sr. and continued to live in Anaconda. There she had two children Joanne and Donny. She moved back to Mobridge in 1975 and after her children had grown she went to college at Northern State University getting her accounting degree. Florence then to a job with East River Trucking as a bookkeeper for 21 years, she retired in 2010.
In 1988 she fell in love with Willie Sieler of Selby and spent thirteen great years with him. He was the husband of her heart, Willie passed away in 2001.
Florance enjoyed dancing with Willie, gardening, playing cards, crocheting afghans, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Selby.
She is survived by her; daughter; Joanne (Tom) Young, of Onida, SD , son Don (Sandy) Walker, of Mitchell, SD, 2 brothers Kenneth (Laurie) Koenig of CT, Howie (Marilyn) Keonig of IA., sister; Ethel (Al) Veer Kamp, MO., six grandchildren Brandy (Josh) Pardee, Austin Young, Sierra Young, Larmaie Walker, and Shawn Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
