Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn Rosella O'Leary, age 86, of Dupree, will be at 10AM MT Jan. 5, 2013 at All Saints Catholic Church in Eagle Butte. Burial will be in Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Evelyn passed away Monday, December 23, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Evelyn was born July 12, 1926 in Timber Lake to Chauncey and Edith (Pearman) Johnson. She attended Marty Indian School and graduated in 1944. She attended St. Elizabeth Nursing School in Yakima, WA. She worked as a nurse in Faith, SD for 2 years, was the school nurse for Cheyenne Eagle Butte, SD for 30 plus years.

She had several nieces and nephews and grandchildren who lived with her at one time or another. She was extremely generous to everyone. She loved horses and branding and was always packing kids around.

She is survived by her daughter, Frannie O'Leary-Lockwood, of Zap, ND, three grandsons, Daniel, David and Michael, sisters, Ella Belle Tombin, of Portland, OR, Edith Reno, of Gillette, WY, Emma Lu Reeves of Eagle Butte, SD.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence (Snooks) O'Leary, son Michael Lawrence O'Leary, parents Chauncy and Edith Johnson, one brother Curley Johnson, and sister Betty Brooks.
