Funeral services for Eugene Sandland, 81, of McLaughlin, will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 15, 2025, at Kesling Funeral Chapel in Mobridge. Burial will take place at the Congregational Cemetery in McLaughlin. Eugene died on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at his home in McLaughlin.

Eugene was born on March 27, 1944 in Mandan, ND. He grew up on the family farm near McLaughlin, SD and graduated from McLaughlin High School. He lived for a short time in Lewiston, MT where he raised chickens. He returned to McLaughlin and raised pigs for a little while and delivered the newspaper.

Eugene is survived by one brother, Andrew (Roselyn) Sandland of McLaughlin; 2 sisters, Doris Thunder, Middleboro, Manitoba, Canada and Jane Lassle of Rapid City, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bernice O'Donald; two brothers, Eddie and Virgil.
