Funeral services for Esther Schuetzle age 90 of Mound City will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the St. Paul's EV Lutheran Church in Mound City. Burial will be at the Mound City Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 5 PM Friday at the church with a prayer service at 7 PM. Esther passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Eureka Community Hospital.
Esther M Rossow was born on November 2, 1928, to John F and Laura (Kluckman) Rossow. While growing up she attended Schley country school and graduated from Herreid High School in 1946.
On November 28, 1948, she married Milton Schuetzle at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mound City. They farmed and ranched on a farm 6 miles northwest of Mound City. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was the organist for many years and was a member of the Ladies Aid in which she held many different positions. She also served on the Mound City Development Corporation board and Mound City Cemetery Board.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They very seldom left her house without having chocolate chip cookies.
After Milton passed away in 2004, Esther continued to live in her home on the farm. In 2015 she entered the Eureka Community Assisted Living Facility. In 2019 she entered the Avera Eureka Health Care Center.
Esther is survived by her children, Robert (Rosemary) Schuetzle, Herreid, SD, Ruth (Forrest) Borr, Pollock, SD, Merle (Debra) Schuetzle, Herreid, SD, eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, Brad (Buffy) Schuetzle, Noah and Reagan, Brian (Marie) Schuetzle, Philip, Charles and Haley, Lisa (Travis) Anderson, Tiege and Tenley, Keenyn (Kristen) Borr, Vanessa and Everleigh, Darryn (Flo) Borr, Maddox and Cullen, Valerie (Levi) Jensen, Landon and Jordyn, Cassie (Tony) Volk, Payton and Presley, Brittany (Charles) Gauer and Adlee and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton, sister, Dorothy (Melvin) Klaudt, her parents, brother-in-law, Hilmer (Janette) Schuetzle, sister-in-law, Violet (Willis) Rodenburg.
