Esther May Schley, 95, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Bethesda Homes in Aberdeen. The celebration of life for Esther will be held privately. The burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Esther was born May 31, 1929, to Helen and Melvin Helgeson at home in Stratford, SD.  Esther attended country school and graduated from Stratford in 1947.  In 1948 she married Delbert Schley.  They moved to Portland, OR for a short time and back to the family farm in 1949. Then in 1961 moved to Selby, buying the Standard station (Del's Amoco).

Esther was involved with Del's Amoco, her cake baking business, church and various organizations and committees.  She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, bowling, golf, cards, her winters in Mesa, AZ, and as much time with family as possible. Her dessert table was always filled during the holidays for any and everyone who needed a treat, cup of coffee, and a friend.

Esther is survived by her daughters Ellen (Adolph) Renner and Estelle (Vern) Meyers both of Aberdeen; daughter-in-law Debbie Schley of St. Charles, MO; 3 brothers and 1 sister; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren:  many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert, 3 sons (Dean, Danny and Doyle), daughter-in-law Debra Schley, 1 brother and 1 sister.
