Emmett Gabriel White Temple Jr. "Suke" was born September 22nd, 1961, in Fort Yates, ND to Emmett White Temple Sr. & Lillian Eunice Goodiron White Temple. He grew up in Fort Yates and attended elementary school at the St. Bernard's Mission School then attended junior high and high school at the Fort Yates High School and graduated in 1979.

He participated in football, basketball and track and was a member of the high school band where he played the saxophone. Suke along with Marty Bullhead and Dennis Painte were a part of an All-Indian high school band where they played at a half-time game for the Washington Red Skins and the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. He remembered playing "Deep in the Heart of Texas" and getting booed. He also was a member of the Fort Yates High School Tatanka Iyotake Indian Club. A highlight from the Club in 1976 is that they walked in the inaugural parade for Jimmy Carter and performed in the Kennedy Center. After high school he went on to further his education at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1988.

He married his high school sweetheart Nancy Lindgren on February 14, 1985 and together they had two children Katie Marie White Temple and Michael Ray White Temple. They eventually separated and divorced and he then met his life partner Cheryl Shooter and her children Jamie Dupris and Jesse Dupris.

Suke was employed with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe as an Environmental Protection Agency Director and Tribal Health Director. He also worked for the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe as an Environmental Technician, and was a Sales Representative for the Teton Times. He was also a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Water Board and Environmental Protection Agency Board where he was an avid supporter of the Sacred Stone Camp and Oceti Sakowin Camp protecting the Missouri River for the Standing Rock Tribe.

Suke knew an endless amount of people and was well liked by many. He had the great ability to remember all those he met and left an impression to always be remembered. He loved to socialize and joke around with friends and family. He was quick witted, had a big smile, and a laugh that you could not help but laugh with. He was warm hearted and willing to help anyone at any time. He was especially proud of being a grandpa, always sharing recent pictures of his grandkids.

Suke continued to enjoy playing basketball in independent All-Native and Non-Native tournaments and leagues. He also enjoyed coaching the game where he coached at the Wakpala High School and Rock Creek Day School boys and girls teams. After coaching, he continued to be involved in the sport by being a referee where he was able to help out when needed. He enjoyed watching all sports and his favorite teams were the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Twins and like his son and many of his family members, die-hard fans of the Minnesota Vikings "Skol Vikings."
