Funeral services for Elton Kills Crow age 33 of Little Eagle, will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 1, 2019 at Little Eagle Blue Gym. Interment will be in the All Nation's Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kesling Funeral Home. Elton passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
Elton Raymond Kills Crow was born on March 14, 1985 to Marion (Mary) Kills Crow and Raymond Fire Cloud. At a very young age, he was placed with Art & Delores Jochim, this became his home until he left for the Marine Corp.
Elton went to Standing Rock High School in Fort Yates & graduated on May 23, 2004. During his high school years, he excelled in Wrestling, a sport he participated in since Jr. high. He made it to State two times. He also was a football player, which he truly enjoyed. He also took part in Track and Javelin.
On May 27, 2004 he went into the Marine Corp. While during his time in the military he did 2 tours of duty in Iraq. Shortly after getting out of the military he had the accident that put a major halt to his young life. For the past 10 years he has resided in Minnesota. For two summers he came down to the Little Eagle Celebration the later part of July, the first summer he came he received his Lakota name. He really enjoyed listening to powwow music.
Survived by his foster parents, Art & Delores Jochim of Selfridge, ND; brothers, Bryon Kills Crow, Mpls MN, Mario Kills Crow & Matthew Mountain of Battle Creek, MI; sisters, Michelle Kills Crow, Aberdeen SD & Marquita Sims of Cottage Grove, MN; Uncles, Bernard (Fran) Mountain of McLaughlin SD, Adrian Kills Crow of Little Eagle, SD and Aunts-Susie (Richard) Weyaus of Isle, MN, Nina Mata, Little Eagle and Marlene Olvera & Lavina Long Elk, Mpls. MN.
Also, a foster brother, Curtis Jochim and 4 foster sisters.
Elton was preceded in death by his mom, Marion Kills Crow and a baby sister, Tresita Kills Crow. His maternal grandparents, Trevian Long Elk and Andrew Kills Crow, Jr.
