Mass of Christian Burial for Elsie Hagel, 96, of Ridgeview will be 10:00 AM MST Saturday, March 4, 2017 at All Saints Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at the church. Elsie passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.

Elsie Anita Hagel was born on January 31, 1921 to Fred and Anita (Willard) Eldridge in Fort Pierre, SD.. She graduated from Fort Pierre High School in 1939. Following the completion of some schooling at Nettleton Commercial College Sioux Falls, SD Tugie worked in the Soil Conservation office at the Court House in Onida, SD until she married.
On October 26, 1940 she married Leo Lawrence Hagel. Together they had three children, Leo, Fred and Lila. They raised their family on their ranch outside of Ridgeview, South Dakota.
Once her children were grown one of her proudest accomplishments was teaching head-start. She truly loved her job and retired after many years.
When Tugie was not spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed reading whatever she could get her hands on.
Tugie is survived by her daughter, Lila Robertson of Richmond, Texas, 4 grandchildren: Jay Hagel, Terri Hagel, Billie Renelt and Bobbie Matthes and 8 great grandchildren: Leo Hagel, Morgan Hagel, Zachary , Olivia, Sidney and Joshua Renelt, and Brandon and Brent Matthes and 1 sister, Ruth Weverstad of Fort Collins, Colorado and 1 daughter-in-law, Myra Hagel of Arlee, Montana.
Tugie is preceded in death by her husband, Leo of 49 years, her two sons Leo and Fred, her parents, Frederick and Anita Eldridge, father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Christine Hagel, 1 daughter-in-law, Kolleen Hagel, 1 son-in-law, Dallas Robertson, 5 brothers, Willard, Warren, Ralph, Robert and Jewel and 1 sister, Marian.
