Mass of Christian Burial for Ellen Woodard, 83, of McLaughlin will be held at 11:00 AM (CT), Saturday, October 4, 2025, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in McLaughlin. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Mobridge under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM (CT), Friday, October 3, 2025, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in McLaughlin. Ellen passed away, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Ellen Lily Woodard (Elnora Lily Moncrief) was born on November 7, 1941, to Clarence and Elnora Moncrief in Pine Hill, NJ. She was the oldest of thirteen children. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 16, 2025, at Mobridge Regional Hospital in Mobridge, SD.

She was the mother of four children (Teonie, Tawa, Tahcawin, and Danny) who she loved tirelessly. She was an adoring grandmother who prided herself on her birthday cheesecakes for her grandchildren, children, and friends.

She worked in the medical field as an x-ray technician and mammographer for many years. She was an avid reader and learner. She even went back to college in her 70's, to keep her brain active. She loved to sing, both secular and Christian music, and even jumped on stage a few times. She loved Star Trek, her Dodgers, the Eagles and Neil Diamond as well as baking for her friends and family. One of her greatest gifts was bringing happiness to others.

She is survived by three of her children (Teonie Witko of Riverside, CA, Tawa Witko of McLaughlin, SD, and Danny Witko of Tea, SD), her siblings (Ann, Clarence James, John, and Betty), and her many grandchildren and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter (Tahcawin Corbett), her ex-husband (Tashunka Witko), her parents (Clarence & Elnora), and her siblings (Ailene, Clarence, Mike, Cindy, Nancy, Jeanne, Linda, and Arthur).
