Funeral services for Edna Mettler, 89, of Mobridge will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Kesling Funeral Chapel in Mobridge. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in McLaughlin under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Edna passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Black Hills Care and Rehabilitation Center in Rapid City.

Ethel (Corbett-Schmidt) was born in Fargo, ND. She grew up in the McLaughlin and Mobridge areas. She met Milton Mettler at a dance in McLaughlin and were married on April 15, 1945.

They made their home on a ranch North of Mahto. They moved to Mobridge in 1959 where she worked at the Mobridge Hospital and then at the Mobridge Nursing Home as a dietitian. She enjoyed her grand-children, crocheting and crafts. She was an avid reader and an adventurous traveler. In her early days she and Milton were in a square dance club.

Ethel (Edna) is survived by two daughters, Faye (Burt) Eaton, Watkins, CO, Linda Weron, Rapid City, SD and one son, Michael (Candace) of Baker, MT, seven grand-children and twelve great-grand children, one sister, LaQuita Allison of Colorado Springs, CO, two brothers, John Corbett of Oregon and Robert Corbett of Canada, and last but not least, Angel, her sixteen-year-old Bischon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton in 1984, one infant daughter, Jane Faye in 1947, two brothers, Gordon Corbett and Herman Schmidt, and one sister, Delores Rowe, son-in-law, Gerold Weron, sister-in-law, Maurene Corbett.
