Funeral services for Edith Silk, 86, of Bismarck, ND, are 1PM, Monday, March 7, 2016, at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Ft. Yates, ND. Visitation begins at 5PM, with a rosary at 7PM, Sunday, March 6, 2016, at the church. Burial to take place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of the Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Edith passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016, at St. Gabriel's Community of Bismarck. There will be a feed at the A.J. Agard Memorial Building following the funeral.

Edith was born March 11, 1929 to John W. Silk Jr. and Agnes C. (Tree Top) Silk. She was raised and educated in Fort Yates. Edith attended The Mile High Beauty School in Denver Colorado. She lived in
various places: Minneapolis MN, Odgen UT, and Mclaughlin SD. Edith was employed at the BIA Office,Sitting Bull College, and the Tribal office in Fort Yates. Edith enjoyed caring for several of her
grandchildren and great?grandchildren: Angelique, Tony, Cheyenne, Diamonique, Aaliyah, and Londyn.

She is survived by her two daughters: Claire Jacobson and Rosie Jacobson and her five sons: Patrick (Tina) Zahn, Timothy D. Zahn, Burdette R. Jacobson, Elliott (Johnelle) Jacobson, and Andrew Jacobson. Granddaughters: Angelique (Larry) Jacobson, Shania "Liz" Hepper, and Cheyenne Rain Zahn.Grandson: Antonio (Tony) Rodriguez, Great?granddaughters: Diamonique Jacobson, Aaliyah & Londyn
White, three sisters: Wanda (Harim) Silk, Dallas, TX & Aurelia Silk, Vina (Gary) Snider, four brothers: Earl (Helen) Silk, Christopher Silk, Roland (Myron) Silk, & Carl Owen Silk.
Edith was preceded in death by her oldest son, Michael Aljoe Silk, her parents, John & Agnes Silk, her sisters, Wanda Silk, Elizabeth Gullickson, Audrey Leingang, Mary Silk, and her brothers, Charles Silk,Carl Silk, Elwood Silk, Elsworth Silk, and her special friend, Elliott B. Jacobson.
