Funeral services for Earl Fjeldheim, 84, of Herreid will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Peace Lutheran Church in Herreid. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A prayer service will be Friday at 7PM at the church. Earl passed away Monday January 20, 2020 at the Walworth County Care Center in Selby.

Earl Duane Fjeldheim was born on June 11 ^th , 1935 the 5 ^th of 11 children to Andrew & Arlouine (Freeman) Fjeldheim at the family homestead NE of Pollock, SD. There he attended Solomonson country school and then went on to attend Pollock School through the 8 ^th grade.

On November 8 ^th , 1959 he married Judy Werner at Peace Lutheran Church in Herreid. The couple made their home on the Werner ranch 10 miles West of Herreid. To this union they were blessed with 4 children. Lonnie in 1960, Lori in 1962, Kim in 1963 & Kent 1973.

Earl and Judy's years on the farm were filled with lots of fun and laughter. They enjoyed get togethers and vacations with neighbors. As a young family they attended Pollock Lutheran Church.

Earl's hobbies included going on big game hunting trips and attending local sporting events. In 2012 he and Judy moved into Herreid but never left the farm life far behind. They still enjoyed venturing out to the farm every day, checking to make sure the cattle had water and looking at crops and livestock along the way.

In March of 2017, Earl became a resident of the Walworth County Care Center in Selby where he resided until his passing.

Earl is survived by his daughter, Lori Bechtold of Linton, ND; sons, Kim (Wendy) Fjeldheim of Doniphan, NE and Kent (Brandee) Fjeldheim of Herreid, SD. Daughter-in-law, Paula Fjeldheim of Herreid. Grand children, Beth Fjeldheim of Herreid, SD, Tiffany (Trent) Schwahn of Bismarck, ND, Temree (Derrick) Appert of Braddock, ND, Ryan (Morgan) Fjeldheim of Kearney, NE, Taylor (Elissa) Fjeldheim, of Phoenix, AZ, Hannah Fjeldheim of Doniphan, NE, and Grady & Georgia Fjeldheim of Herreid. Great grand children, Holden, Cruz & Knox Schwahn of Bismarck, ND, Blayke, Jagger & Brooks Appert of Braddock, ND, & Rae, Arlo & River Fjeldheim of Kearney, NE. A sister, Evelyn Quenzer, of Deadwood, SD and brothers Andrew (Cindy) Fjeldheim Jr. and Alvin (Bernadette) Fjeldheim both of Pollock. Sisters-in-law, Phyllis Fjeldheim of Pollock, Rita Fjeldheim, Gladys Fjeldheim & Holly Fjeldheim, all of Herreid, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy of 57 years (2016). Son, Lonnie (2014) son-in-law, John Bechtold Jr. (2004) His parents Andrew (1987) & Arlouine (1997). Sister, Delores Joyce (1940). Brothers, Kenny (1987), Shervin (1994), Jimmy (1999), Orland (2006), Larry (2014), Ernest (2019). Brother-in-law Henry Quenzer (1997).
