Memorial services for Dorothy Horn age 98 of Mobridge will be at 1 PM, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at St. James Episcopal Church in Mobridge. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Dorothy passed Friday, August 30, 2013 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Dorothy was born on April 5, 1915 at Marmarth, ND to William and Eva (Ormsby) Morris. She graduated from Marmarth High School. She attended Mankato Business College getting her Secretarial Degree.
Dorothy enlisted in the Women's Army Corp was stationed at the Pentagon during World War II.
Dorothy married Robert Horn on April 10, 1948 at Miles City, MT.
Dorothy worked as a secretary for several Mobridge business, Milwaukee Road Depot Station, J.C. Penny's and Mobridge Tribune. She member of the Mobridge Hospital Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, Den Mother for the Cub Scout and Girl Scout troops.
Dorothy served faithfully in the St. James Episcopal Church as Sunday School Teacher, St. Margaret's Women's Guild, Altar Guild, Vestry, Lay Reader. She was devoted to her family as a wife and mother of six children. She loved to cook and was a gracious host to all her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Patricia Bartee, of Cave Creek, AZ, sons; The Rev. Michael Horn of Bismarck, ND., James Horn of Sioux Falls, SD., grandson, Grant Bartee, of Los Angeles, CA., granddaughters; Alicia (Nick) Luther of Sioux Falls, SD., Katlyn Testerman, of Denver, CO, numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Horn, son Robert C. Horn, Jr., two daughters Judith Horn Turner, Nancy Horn Testerman and her parents William and Eva Morris, sisters; Irene Grothe and Natalie Guerrant, brothers; James Morrism, George Morris, Donald Morris, William Morris II.
