Obituary

Funeral services for Donna Schick, 81, of Herreid will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Assembly of God Church in Herreid. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 6:30 PM Monday with a prayer service at 7 PM at the church. Donna passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2022, at the Linton Hospital.

Donna Schick, 81, a long-time resident of Herreid, died October 6, 2022 at the Linton Hospital after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for seven years.  She was born on July 17, 1941 to Harold and Alvina (Eberhart) Klein in Herreid, South Dakota.

Donna had a hard-working life, and developed many life-long friendships, by being employed at the Herreid Hospital, Herreid Nursing Home, Pollock Cheese Plant, Herreid Frame Factory, and Pollock Nutrition Center.  Donna was talented in many crafts and projects including ceramics, crocheting, gardening, quilting, needle-point, and cooking.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her family and friends unconditionally.  Her strong faith in God got her through one of the most devastating time in her life with the sudden loss of her youngest son.

She is survived by her husband Elmer, sons Kevin (Sharon)-Herreid, Dean-Herreid, daughter in-law, Bonnie (James-deceased) Schick-Herreid, brothers, Lyle Klein-Sioux Center, IA, Roland (Cecelia) Klein-Sioux Falls, SD, sister, Sharon (Donald) Clinton-Larkspur, CO and many nephews and nieces. Donna was blessed with four grandchilden, McKenzie, Sydney, Dawson, and Dalton.

Donna was preceded in death by her son, James, parents, and brothers, Gordon, Larry and Harlan.
