Funeral services for Donald Simon, 83, of Eagle Butte will 11:00 AM MDT Friday, April 7, 2017 at the UCC Church on Eagle Butte. Interment will be in the Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Donald passed away at his ranch on Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home in rural Eagle Butte.

Donald was born May 28, 1933, to Alvin and Inez (Insley) Simon at Dupree, SD. He grew up in Eagle Butte and completed the 8th grade. He went in one door of Eagle Butte High School and out the other and went on to take over the ranch.

Donald was united in marriage with Donna Frances Parker on September 12, 1952 at the UCC Church in Eagle Butte. To this union four children were born. Debra Kaye, Darla Sue, Duane Alvin and Doyle Allison. They made their home 13 miles East of Eagle Butte at the Ranch, where they resided all of their married lives.

Five grandchildren Curtis (Jennilee) Simon of Eagle Butte, Megan Wright, of Eagle Butte, Shelby (Lucas) Young of Aberdeen, Derek (Mikala) Simon, Aberdeen, and Reid (Joyce) Simon of Aberdeen, SD., 3 great-grandchildren that were the light of his life, Gunner Cinch Wright, Renlee Faith Simon and Odessa Lee Simon.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, daughter, Debra, infant grandson, one brother and his parents.
