Memorial services for Donnie Houghtaling, 66, of McLaughlin will be at 1:30 PM, Friday, April 22, 2016 at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Donnie passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Rural McLaughlin. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge is in charge of arrangements.

Donald "Donnie" Wayne Houghtaling, 66, of McLaughlin passed away April 20, 2016 in McLaughlin of a massive heart attack. Donnie was born April 20, 1950 in Redfield to Clyford and Janice (Pesha) Houghtaling.
Donnie graduated from Bowdle High School in 1969. He attended Hanson Mechanical in Fargo, ND. Upon graduation he moved to Mobridge where he worked for B&R Motors and Lindskov Equipment. He made his home in Mobridge until the spring of 2009 when he moved to McLaughlin where he worked as a ranch hand for Bob and Candance Mizera.
Donnie was an active member of the Masons, Shriners and Mobridge Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family and friends and hunting.

Donnie is survived by his mother, Jan Houghtaling of Watertown, SD, two sisters, Char Schlepp of Coon Rapids, IA, Carolyn (Dan) Busta of Watertown, SD, one brother, Curt (Heidi) Houghtaling of Elk River, MN, one daughter, Kristi Houghtaling of Sioux Falls, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clyford Houghtaling, nephew, Adam Houghtaling, and brother-in-law, Brad Schlepp.
In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the Mobridge Masonic Lodge.
