Dewayne “I.D.” Kirschman was born on December 16, 1950, in Mobridge, SD, to John and Maida (Schmierer) Kirschman. He grew up and attended school in Glenham, graduating from Glenham High School in 1969. Dewayne entered the US Marines on May 19, 1970. He was honorably discharged on March 30, 1972. Dewayne enjoyed riding his side by side, going to the car races in Aberdeen, camping at the Brown County Fair, being a member of the Weekend Loafers camping group, and throwing darts. He was a die-hard Steelers fan and was the family weather man, always checking his weather app.

Dewayne is survived by his wife Suzanne of Selby, children, Matthew Kirschman of Brookings, Brian (Brooke) Kirschman of Selby, and Haley (Theo) Ruppanner of Dalhart, TX, granddaughter, Zola, sister, Sheila Kirschman of Aberdeen, special pups, Penny and Molly and numerous nieces and nephews.
