Funeral services for Dennis Spotted Horse, 75, of Rapid City and formerly of Little Eagle will be at 1 PM, Friday, March 27, 2026, at Elk Horn Church in Little Eagle. Burial will be at All Nations Veterans Cemetery. A procession will leave Kesling Funeral Home at 4 PM Thursday, for a visitation from 5r-9 PM and a prayer service at 7 PM at the church. Dennis passed away, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City. Kesling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dennis Spotted Horse was born on July 28, 1950, in Little Eagle, South Dakota, to Eva Little Bear Spotted Horse and Dan Spotted Horse. He spent his early years in Little Eagle, where he attended Little Eagle Day School, later graduating in Fort Yates, North Dakota. Dennis continued his education with college studies in Fort Yates and participated in schooling in Dallas, Texas.
From a young age, Dennis was known for his athletic ability and love of baseball, excelling as a talented player during his youth. His life experiences took him beyond his hometown, as he traveled with his sister and brother in law for a short time to Springfield and later to Dallas, Texas, where he gained new experiences and memories.
Dennis proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran. Following his service, he worked at Veteran Industries in McLaughlin, South Dakota, where he remained dedicated and hardworking.
In his personal life, Dennis found joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed playing bingo and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family, offering kindness and support whenever it was needed.
Dennis is survived by his son, Denver Spotted Horse; his daughter, Amanda Spotted Horse; his brother, Whitney Spotted Horse; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Little Bear Spotted Horse and Dan Spotted Horse; nine brothers; three sisters; and his son, Dusty.
