Funeral Service for Delores Fritz age 89 of Trial City will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 2, 2017 Zion Lutheran Church, Mobridge, SD. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Sunday, October 1, 2017 beginning at 4:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Kesling Funeral Home. Delores passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Mobridge Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Delores was born in Mobridge on August 24, 1928 to Emil and Christina (Linderman) Becker. She attended school in Mobridge and went on to work alongside her parents and brother in the family business, the Tastee Bakery. Delores had many stories and fond memories of bakery life and the friendships she made over the years.
On January 23, 1955, she married Eddie Fritz, a Korean War veteran. They established their home on the Fritz family farm southwest of Trail City where they raised five children, Larry, Kenny, Jim, Julie, and Janet, who all attended school in Timber Lake.
Delores was a patient, dedicated homemaker whose family and faith were most important tenants of her life. Lovingly nicknamed "LaLa" by her nieces, nephews, and cousins, Delores was an avid letter writer, enjoyed puzzles and embroidery, as well as gardening and cooking for her family. Later in life, she treasured trips to Wyoming and Colorado to visit her children and grandchildren. Delores was a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Timber Lake and later, Zion Lutheran Church in Mobridge.
Delores is survived by her children, Larry of Trail City, SD, Kenny of Lakewood, Colo., Jim (Lori) of Littleton, Colo., Julie (John) Casteel of Gillette, Wyo., and Janet of Denver, Colo., as well as six grandchildren Lisa (Alex) Lynch of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Amanda (Joel) Lucero of Thornton, Colo., Bobby (Ericca) Fritz of Littleton, Colo., and Brittney (Cammryn) Nelson, Stephanie Casteel, and Brandon Casteel all of Gillette, Wyo. In addition, she has six great-grandchildren, Alex, Mary, Lucy, and Juliana Lynch and Issac and Maddox Lucero.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie, her parents, and her brothers, Emil and Bob and her sisters, Jean and Joyce.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Preschool in Mobridge.
