Funeral services for Delilah (Dee) M. Sharpe age 74 of Mobridge will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the UCC Church in Mobridge. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Oacoma, SD under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Visitation is Tuesday beginning at 3:00 PM. Dee passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Delilah "Dee" Marie Boreson Sharpe was born on August 9, 1940 in Winner, SD to Donald and Lucille (Jorgensen) Boreson. She attended and graduated from Winner High School. Dee then started her college career first she attended SDSU where she met her future husband Harold Sharpe then it was on to Black Hills State and finally getting her teaching degree from Fort Hays State in Hays, Kansas. Dee held teaching certificates and taught in South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa while she followed her husband Harold throughout his career with Pioneer Hybrids finally settling in Mobridge, SD in 1986. Dee and Harold were married on April 30, 1960 at the Congregational Church in Sioux Falls, SD.
She was proud of her family and throughout the years followed her children and grandchildren in their numerous school and sporting activities.
Dee was a member of the United Congregational Church, and served on many boards. She was a member of P.E.O., Eastern Star, Women of the Moose and Cultus Club. She also volunteered for numerous community activities throughout her life.
Dee is survived by her husband of 54 years Harold Sharpe, Mobridge, SD, children; Robert "Shane" Sharpe, Tuscaloosa, AL, Anita "Kit" (John) Morse, Elkhorn, NE, Wendy Kay (Mike) Olson, Aurora, SD, grandchildren; Grant (Alyssa) Sharpe, Charlotte, NC, Tyler (Lauren) Sharpe, Louisville, KY; Preston Sharpe, Denver, CO; Jennifer (Wynn) Fangmeier, Blair, NE, Blaine Morse, Jarrod Redday, Brookings, SD, Tanner Redday, Brookings, SD, Brenna Redday, Brookings, SD; Trenton Redday, Fort Drum, WY, great grandchildren; Ryland Morse, Omaha, NE; Delilah Fangmeier, Blair, NE; Presley Meinders, Brookings, SD; Greyson Sharpe, Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are siblings, Keo Boreson, Winner, SD, Charles (Bonnie) Boreson, Tucson, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Donald Boreson and Lucille Jorgensen Boreson; and daughter-in-law; Nora Fisher Sharpe.
