Funeral services for Delbert Frederick Rueb, 93 of Herreid, SD will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:30 am at the Herreid Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday beginning at 5:30 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Interment will take place at the Fairview Cemetery, Herreid.

Delbert Frederick Rueb, 93 passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the Linton Regional Medical Center with family by his side. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28th, 10:30 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, Herreid with visitation on Thursday, March 27th at the church beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a family service at 7:00 p.m. Delbert was born on February 29, 1932, at Herreid, SD to Carl and Lydia (Biel) Rueb, he was joined by a sister, Maureen. Delbert attended Herreid School through 10th grade and served in the Korean War from Dec of 1952 to Dec of 1954. He married Lydia Kerher on May 7, 1953, and they returned to the farm following his discharge from the service.  He was employed for a time with Schaeffer Manufacturing in Eureka, did custom welding and custom hay hauling for area farmers. They spent their life farming, dairying and raising cattle; summers were spent doing custom harvest work from Oklahoma to North Dakota from 1975 to 2004. Delbert and Lydia moved into Herreid in 2015 and he made daily trips to the farm and was active in farming as long as he was able. He was part of a trio of combines that would harvest wheat, beans and corn and looked forward to driving truck for silage cutting, being the first one out in the morning, sitting in his truck, making sure no one would steal it. Delbert had a kind, gentle spirit and when asked how he is, his response was always 'better'. He was a long-time member of the Assembly of God Church and served as a deacon and in other capacities for many years.

He is survived by children, Norma of Java; Dale (Colleen) of Herreid; Mary (Dwayne) Goodale of Grovespring, MO; Rollin (Charlotte) of Herreid; Paul (Bonnie) of Selby. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren: Shannon (David Poe) Rueb; Dustin (Haley) Rueb, Raelle, Sariyah and Myah; Debbie (Brian) Wherry, Kobe, Jared and Keiara; Jesse (Mindi) Rueb, Rachel and Eric; Tabitha Goodale and Elianna; Joshua (Krystahl) Goodale, Jayden Flanigan, Lily, Eden and Owen; James Rueb, Timothy Rueb; Steven (Katelynn) Rueb, Easton, Miles, Elliana; Kari Rueb. Sister-in-law Donna Streifel, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Lydia 2017; daughter Patricia 1954; sons Randall 2012; Dean 2024; grandson Josiah Rueb 2018; parents Carl 1997 and Lydia 1979; sister and brother-in-law Maureen and LeRoy Johnson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Edna and Frank Maxiner, Eugene Hehn, Jake Kerher, Irvin Kerher, Martha Kerher, and Tom Streifel.
