Deidre Lee Iron Cloud was born on July 19, 1980 in Fort Yates, North Dakota. Deidre Lee entered Paradise on August 14, 2010 in San Diego, California at the age of 30 years and 26 days. She was the daughter of Faith Marion Taken Alive and the late Theron Douglas Iron Cloud.

Deidre Lee proudly proclaimed her steadfast love and devotion to her Christian Faith by reminding all who were near to her "The Lord Jesus is my Savior and my champion, I have no fear." Deidre Lee and her sister Dani Rose always gave credit to Pastor Jim Wilfred Jones for her patient teachings as their Sunday School Teacher throughout their childhood years.

Deidre attended Little Eagle Head Start graduating in 1985. She then attended Cannonball Public School for 3 months where she was diagnosed with dyslexia. With the assistance of Dr. Chuck Ross, BIA Superintendent of Standing Rock Schools immediately a search began to find a teacher capable of teaching dyslexic children. Such a teacher was located in Little Eagle Day School, Ms. Jody Peterson. Deidre remained at Little Eagle Day School until 5th grade. She attended McLaughlin Public School until she entered 7th grade. From 7th grade to her senior year Deidre attended Standing Rock High School graduating in 1999.

Throughout her high school years Deidre participated in Choir, Basketball, and other groups and clubs. Deidre was among the first members of the KLND Youth Broadcasting group, "Onzoge Okpija" whose youth group leaders included members of the Standing Rock Police Force, Doug Wilkinson, and Jody Sam. At age 12 she was honored by being selected as the SRVVA (Standing Rock Vietnam Veteran's Association) Princess.

On December 25, 2002 Deidre was joined in marriage to Curtis Crow. From this union, one daughter was born Ileyah Olivia Faith Mahpiya Maza.

Deidre decided later in life to attend college to pursue her main hobby of photography. Prior to attending college Deidre was an accomplished photographer completing many, many beautiful photo projects for many people from Standing Rock to San Diego, California. She chose to attend college in San Diego because as she said, "There is a whole bunch of photographic opportunities in this scenic area of many beaches, mountains, and the Pacific Ocean." Although Deidre was a multi-talented artisan she remained humble, gentle, and kind.

Deidre worked many jobs and enjoyed each and every one, she was employed as a Bingo caller/floor worker at Bear Soldier Bingo. While in San Diego, she was employed at the YMCA and as a professional photographer at JC Penny, a job she loved.

While in San Diego Deidre was among the first members of the San Diego Soaring Eagles, a Native American Indian culture dance group. Deidre was provided assistance as to designs for many dance regalia for all dance categories. In the words of her uncle Chuck Cadotte "Deidre kept me on my toes, always making sure things were done right."
