All-night wake service for Debra Painte, 65, of Porcupine, will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the AJ Agard Building in Ft. Yates. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 PM. Final viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 4, 2024, at the AJ Agard Building with a feed to follow. Burial will be in the Porcupine Cemetery at a later date. Kesling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Debra passed away, Monday, September 23, 2024, at the St. Vincent's Assisted Living in Bismarck.

Debra Painte was born to Millian "Bunski" Painte and Eloise Chapman on October 15, 1958, in Fort Yates, North Dakota.

She was raised by Louise Goodrow until her passing and then was raised by Shirley Pleets and family.

In the early 70s, in junior high, Debra enjoyed dancing and singing as part of the Fort Yates Indian Club.

After high school, she had her first-born son with Kem "Jimmy" Agard. A year after, she started her family with Blaine Claymore and from this relationship, she had three sons and her only daughter.

Debra worked at multiple Standing Rock establishments as a teacher at Early HeadStart, cashier at Prairie Knights Casino and also at Child Protection Service Agency, she was also on the Election Committee.

Debra was very proud of her culture. She enjoyed beading, cooking Bapa with her winter kill, visiting her family and loved her grandchildren.

Debra is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Blaine Claymore, Jr.
