Funeral services for Dean Moran, 50, of Sioux Falls and formally of Eagle Butte will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 9, 2017 St. John's Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte. Burial Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Family and friends meet at four- mile Junction 4:00 PM to process to Church for the prayer service beginning 7:00 p.m. Dean passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls.
Dean Vaughn Moran was born to Rod and Delma (Bruguier) Moran in Eagle Butte. He attended school at the Isabel Public School and attended Job Corps at Anaconda, Mt. Dean was employed at Ed Westcott Construction in Holabird, SD, John Morrel's, Master's Construction in Sioux Falls, SD, CRST Law Enforcement and Indian Health Services. He grew up in Isabel, South Dakota and later made his home in Sioux Falls, SD.
Dean is survived by his wife Diana Comer Moran, united in 1989 of thirty (30) years and Step-daughter Athanasia Bad Heart Bull and Daughter Savannah Moran of Sioux Falls, 7 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Dean's parents: Roderick (JoBeth) Moran, his mother the late Delma Bruguier Pillar. Brothers: Roderick Moran Jr., James John Moran, Ronnie Fire Cloud, Terry (Zollie) Moran, Sisters: Arliss (Daren) Moran, Dreemis (Luke) Moran, Heather Hazel Dupris, Ardys (Bill) Cook, Shelley (Gary) Alkire, Michon (Mark) Marshall, Amy Marshall.
